StudentConnect

StudentConnect is Living Waters’ ministry for students in grades 6-8, though there are older students that also participate in StudentConnect as well. The purpose of StudentConnect is to develop and guide students in following Jesus, encourage them in their journey of faith through teaching , and provide a safe place for conversations within small groups. It is also the way that students at Living Waters are CONFIRMED.

Our goal for every student in StudentConnect is that they will learn more ABOUT God, EXPERIENCE God through worship, large and small group time, and SERVE God to make an impact in our community and world.

StudentConnect meets each Wednesday from 7-8pm during the school year.

Tell Me About StudentConnect

Each week at StudentConnect, we do a number of different things.  Most weeks begin with an activity to get all of us moving (and maybe laughing).  We follow that by spending some time teaching the whole group together.  The weekly sessions are mainly led by Pastor Dan. The first Wednesday of the month will also be a special session for both students AND parents (one or both).

During StudentConnect, we tackle the following topics:

Old Testament

New Testament

Following Jesus

Understanding God's Story

The Meaning of Christianity

...and more.

Part of the StudentConnect experience is experiencing our faith through serving. Every student is expected to serve both inside and outside the church throughout the year. More is shared in the StudentConnect Handbook and in orientation!

During the church season of Lent (six weeks leading up to Easter), each student will have weekly 1 on 1 time with a Faith Mentor. This is a person chosen by the student--an aunt or uncle, grandparent, coach or teacher, or someone else that is Christian. They don't even have to be Lutheran! More about Faith Mentors and the expectations are in the StudentConnect Handbook.
